Azrael the Fighter
Azrael was a 3 years Old Russian Blue tom cat. He was presented to our surgery because of a large swelling on his left cheek. Azrael was already treated by another vet but the same problem reappeared very soon afterwards.
Typical clinical picture as well as the history from the owners helped us to make a diagnosis of an cat-fight caused abscess.
Azrael was sedated and we started the surgical treatment of the abscess. First, we removed the stiches left by previous vet to enable abscess to drain. Also, the provisional drain inserted by previous vet and made of a surgical glove was removed, as it didn't serve it's function and was acting like a foreign body.

Antibiotic tretment was prescribed to Azrael and the owners were instructed how to treat the abscess' wound on every day base. On a follow-up examination, ten days later, Azrael was completely recovered
