Nikoleta Kostić - Novak, DVM BVSc MRCVS, surgery specialist, graduated in 1995 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade. She has attained her surgery specialist degree in 1997. From 2000-2002 she expanded her professional knowledge in Great Britain. She became a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) in 2002. She obtained three parts of ESAVS (Europan School of Advanced Veterinary Studies - www.esavs.org) certificate in Small Animal Cardiology, and continuing to expand her knowledge in the veterinary cardiology area by attended June Boon’s Echocardiography courses (www.juneboon.com). She is a member of the Scientific and Professional Committee of Serbian Association of Small Animal Practicioneres (SASAP). She is also a member of the Editorial Board of the SASAP Bulletin. She is the leader of the Blue Dog Project in Serbia. For the publishing house "Pčelica" (www.pcelica.rs) Nikoleta wrote a book for children "Get to know your pets". In 2011 for the same publishing comapny she wrote six picure books about domestic animals for children. Her special interests are small animal cardiology and echocardiolography, soft tissue surgery, veterinary acupuncture, but also education of the chlidren on safe behaviour towards the pet animals.
